I'll Be Honest. Joel Embiid Was Not Hockey Tough Last Night
I love Joel Embiid more than I love most members of my family. Joel, Ben, Carson Wentz, Ivan Provorov, Rhys Hoskins. They are some of the most important people in my life and I love them and I cherish them. My large adult sons. And while I don’t think I’m the hard ass type of father who refuses to hug their sons and tell them that he loves them, sometimes I still have to throw on the hard ass pants every once in a while and punish bad behavior. Like this moment from last night.
The block was great. The stare down was excellent. But the flop at the end? Not. Hockey. Tough. You want to know who flops? LeBron. And he’s a pussy unless he comes to Philly next year. You want to know who flops? Sean Avery. And he’s an embarrassment to the entire sport of hockey.
We don’t flop around here, JoJo. Not in this town. And we especially don’t gloat after we commit such an egregious crime either.
I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed. And as disappointed as I am in Joel for flopping in the first place, I’m ever more disappointed in the Sixers fans at Wells Fargo last night for enabling this type of behavior. If that were a Flyers crowd then he’d be boo’d mercilessly until he realizes that he’ll never flop again a day in his life.
P.S. – Love this move.
P.P.S. – Ben Simmons puts up a career-high 27 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists. Guess where he is after the game?
Right back at the practice facility grinding. TTP.
